Privacy Policy

BYProgrammer (“we”, “us”, or “our”) built the My Money app (the “App”) as a personal finance and expense tracking tool. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.

1. Information We Collect

My Money is designed to keep your financial data on your device. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your transaction or account data on our servers.

Information stored locally in the App may include:

Accounts (cash, bank, credit card, payable, receivable) and balances.
Income and expense categories, amounts, notes, and dates.
Transfers between accounts, budgets, and income targets.
Optional photos attached to transactions (camera or gallery).
App preferences such as language, theme, and camera resolution.

The App does not collect precise or approximate location data for our own use.

2. Permissions

The App may request access to the following features on your device:

Camera — to take photos for transactions.
Photos / Media / Files — to attach images and to back up or restore your local database file.
In-app Billing — to process one-time premium purchases through Google Play or the App Store.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your financial records are used solely within the App to help you track income, expenses, budgets, and reports. We do not sell your data or use your local financial records for advertising, analytics, or profiling on our servers.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored locally on your device using an embedded SQLite database. You can create backups at any time; backup files stay on your device (or a location you choose when sharing) and are not uploaded by us. You are responsible for keeping your backup files secure. Uninstalling the App will remove local data unless you have made a backup.

5. Sharing of Information

The App lets you share data only when you explicitly choose to do so — for example, sharing a backup file through your device’s share sheet. We do not transmit your financial records automatically.

6. Third-Party Services

The App may contact the following third-party services:

Google AdMob — to show banner ads in the free version. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data according to Google’s policies. Ads are removed after you purchase the paid version.
Google Play / Apple App Store billing (In-App Purchase) — to process premium unlock purchases and restore purchases. Payment details are handled by the store according to their own privacy policies. We store only a local unlock flag on your device after a successful purchase or restore.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted with a new effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
