App: Fruit Count
Last updated: 3 August 2026
This guide explains how to use Fruit Count for AI-assisted on-tree fruit counting,
orchard–plot–tree management, count history and summaries, and orchard work plans.
1. Getting started & sign-in
1.1 Sign in
- Use email and password, or Continue with Google
- Forgot password: enter your email to receive a reset link
- The Google button appears only in sign-in mode (if you have no account yet and sign-ups are open, Google may create an account automatically)
1.2 Sign up
- Switch to Create account, then enter email, password (at least 6 characters), and confirm password
- Sign-up mode is email/password only — the Google button is hidden
- You may need to confirm your email before signing in (depending on server settings)
- If new sign-ups are closed, the app will show that registration is unavailable
1.3 Create a business
Each account creates one business during onboarding. Enter a business name, then you can manage orchards and start counting.
If your account belongs to more than one business, you will be asked to choose which business to use after sign-in.
2. Main tabs
| Tab | Purpose |
| Count | Start photographing and counting fruit on a tree |
| History | Past count sessions and the all-trees summary |
| Orchards | Manage orchard → plot → tree |
| Work plans | Calendar/list of orchard maintenance tasks |
| Settings | AI credits, count items, language/theme, account |
3. Orchards, plots, and trees
Data is hierarchical: Orchard → Plot → Tree
3.1 Orchards
- Open the Orchards tab
- Admins tap add, then enter name (and optional code/note)
- Tap an orchard to see its plots
- Each orchard shows plot and tree counts
- You can delete an orchard only when it has no plots
- You can deactivate an orchard from edit without deleting data
3.2 Plots
- Open the orchard
- Admins add a plot with name/code/note
- Tap a plot to see trees
- Each plot shows its tree count
- You can delete a plot only when it has no trees and no work plans
- Plot cards may show recent maintenance and a shortcut to that plot’s plans
3.3 Trees
- Open the plot
- Tap +, then choose:
- Add one tree — enter name/code, optional default count item, and note
- Add many trees (number range) — optional prefix, start–end numbers, and optional zero-padding, e.g. prefix
Tree + 1–100 → Tree 001 … 100
- While creating many trees, the app shows a saving progress indicator
- Tree status: pending / counted / recount
- Any member can add and edit trees
- You can delete a tree only when it has no count history
- From the tree menu: history, mark recount / not counted / counted
- If only one active count item exists, it may be selected automatically when adding a tree
- If a plot has multiple fruit types, set a count item on each tree so Summary filters work correctly
- You can create up to 500 trees per range; duplicate names in the same plot are skipped
Suggested order: Create orchard → add plots → add trees → set count items in Settings → start counting from the Count tab
4. Counting fruit (photos + AI)
4.1 Start a count
- Open Count → tap Start count on tree
- Choose orchard → plot → tree → count item
- Continue to the capture screen
4.2 Take or pick photos
- Recommended: at least 4 angles around the tree — Front, Right, Back, Left — then optional extras
- Use the camera or pick from the album
- Remove unwanted photos before finishing
- You can finish with at least 1 photo (still recommended: ≥4 angles before confirming/saving)
4.3 Ask AI and confirm the count
- On the session detail screen, tap Ask AI to estimate
- Token credits are consumed for processing
- Review the AI estimate, then enter the confirmed count (and optional note)
- Save — the tree status becomes “counted”
AI output is an estimate to help you decide. Confirm the number yourself before saving.
If credits are exhausted, AI counting is blocked until you top up.
- From session detail you can add photos, share photos, or delete the session
- You can edit the confirmed count later
5. History and tree count summary
5.1 History
- The History tab lists past count sessions
- Filter by orchard / plot / count item
- Tap a row to open session detail
- You can also open tree-scoped history from a tree
5.2 Tree count summary
- From History, tap the summary icon in the app bar
- See totals: all trees / counted / pending, fruit total, and % counted
- Filters match the History layout: Orchard and Plot on one row, then Count item (when multiple types exist), plus counted / not counted
- Tap Clear filters to reset
- Tap a tree row to open its latest session or history
The count-item filter uses the type set on each tree — useful when one plot has multiple fruit types and you want to view only one type.
5.3 Share summary
Tap Share, then choose:
- Summary only — aggregate numbers for the current filters
- Summary + tree list — summary plus the filtered tree list
6. Work plans
- View as list or calendar
- List filters: Today / This week / Open / History
- Task types include Fertilize, Spray, Prune, Water, Mow, Harvest, Other
- Statuses: Pending, Done, Postponed, Cancelled
- Mark done (with optional note), postpone, cancel, or reopen
- Only admins can delete plans
- The app may show local notifications for upcoming plans
If token credits are exhausted, you cannot add new work plans until you top up.
7. Settings, credits, and account
The top of Settings shows the business name and the signed-in user’s email.
7.1 AI token credit
- View remaining, credited, and used balances
- Buy credit packs via Google Play / App Store (on mobile)
- Credits are used when you run AI estimates
7.2 Count items
- Admins add/rename/activate/deactivate/delete count items (e.g. Durian, Rambutan)
- Members can view the list and select an item when starting a count
7.3 Appearance
- Language: Thai / English
- Theme: System / Light / Dark
- Accent color — default on a fresh install is Forest green
7.4 Privacy and account
- User Guide — opens this document
- Privacy Policy — opens the web document
- Delete count data (admin) — removes all count sessions/photos; keeps orchards, plots, trees, and plans. Requires typing a confirmation word
- Delete all data (admin) — clear to start fresh: removes count history, photos, orchards, plots, trees, and work plans. Keeps the business account, members, count items, and token credits. Requires typing a confirmation word
- Sign out — with confirmation
- Delete account — type confirmation to permanently delete the account (including Auth). If you are the sole member of a business, that business data is deleted too. If other members remain, business data is kept, but this account’s count history is removed
If the same email/account is used with other BYProgrammer systems, deleting the account may affect access to those shared-auth services as well.
8. Admin vs member permissions
| Action | Admin | Member |
| Add/edit/delete orchards & plots | Yes | No |
| Add/edit trees, count, view history | Yes | Yes |
| Manage count items | Yes | View only |
| Add/complete work plans | Yes* | Yes* |
| Delete work plans | Yes | No |
| Delete count data | Yes | No |
| Delete all data (start fresh) | Yes | No |
| Buy credits / appearance settings | Yes | Yes |
* Adding plans requires remaining token credit.
9. Tips and notes
- Photograph the canopy clearly with enough light, avoid strong glare, and cover multiple angles around the tree
- Always confirm the number yourself after the AI estimate, especially on dense fruit clusters
- Use number range to add many trees faster than one-by-one
- Set a count item on each tree when a plot has multiple fruit types so Summary filters work correctly
- Apply History/Summary filters before sharing so the text matches the scope you want
- Orchard/plot/tree delete is blocked while child data exists — remove from the bottom upward, or use “Delete all data” to clear the whole business
- Expired or disabled businesses cannot be selected until their status is fixed
